Arrival in Vágar, Faroe Islands and explore Sørvágur
Welcome to the Faroe Islands! You arrive by airplane at Vágar airport, about 45 minutes from the capital Tórshavn. Meet your private guide and depart towards Sørvágur. Once there, board a boat (shared) and depart by to experience two of the most famous attractions in the Faroe Islands, including the amazing sea-stacks Drangarnir and the Múlafossur Waterfall. Admire the sheer cliffs from the ocean's perspective and see the beautiful waterfall, with over a 100-feet "free-fall" into the sea. We also view the iconic sea-stack known as Drangarnir. Later drive back to Tórshavn and check-in to the Hotel.
Tonight, enjoy Beer Tasting in Okkara, the national brewery. Listen to the brewery's story and learn of brewing technics while enjoying an excellent Faroese beer.
Visit the Koltur Island by Helicopter and Speed Boat and an afternoon Fishing Safari
From Tórshavn, we will do a short and scenic helicopter flight above the islands. We land on Kultur Island. Here, we will have a guided tour and enjoy some refreshments. Later, equipped with a special overall suit, we jump aboard the ultra-fast RIB Boat and "fly" towards the cultural center at Kirkjubøur. Here, visit the 900-year-old "Roykstovan." A Turf-roofed farmhouse, considered the oldest wooden house in Europe, is still occupied by the 17th generation of a local family. We will also be able to see the ruins of the 13th century's St. Magnus Cathedral and the 11th century's church, still in use.
Afternoon, board the Norðlýsið (Nordlysd). The name means The Nordic Light, which fits this iconic schooner-rigged sailship that has been active since it was built in 1945 at the Tórshavn shipyard. The artist Tróndur Pætursson renovated the ship in 1984, and he considers the boat one of his best works.
Why not do some fishing while enjoying the fantastic views from the ship? You can cook the catch and have a taste of the freshest meal possible!
Village of Gjógv, Puffins and the Crown Princess Mary´s Bench
Today, meet your guide at the lobby and depart the city to enjoy the day in the scenic village of Gjógv, which is known for its unique natural harbor and beautiful view of the island of Kalsoy. Walk along the edge of the crevice, and you might see some puffins coming out of their nests. At the end of the crevice, facing the open ocean, it is possible to enjoy the view from Crown Princess Mary’s Bench.
If you walk up the hillside, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the bird cliffs and the village.
Saga Island Sandoy and traditional lifestyle
After breakfast, meet your guide at the lobby and depart towards the beautiful green island of Sandoy, also called the Saga-island. Compared to the other islands, the island is characterized by mostly flat terrain. The island has a wealth of history and wonderful nature. Take the ferry from the Gamlarætt harbor to the village of Skopun.
On arrival, we walk to the "Big Rock" to hear the story about the witch from the Witch Hole! We also visit the villages of Dalur and Húsavík, which lie in beautiful surroundings.
Depart the Faroe Islands
Today, we bid goodbye to the Faroe Islands. Your guide will transfer to to the airport for your onwards flight.
