  • Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Sri Lanka / Transfer to your hotel

    You will be met upon arrival at the International Airport by our representative, who will assist you with your luggage and take you to your vehicle for your private transfer to your hotel for check in.

    Check in and relax at the hotel. If time permits you may visit the city of Colombo.

  • Day 2: Colombo to Hatton

    After breakfast meet your private driver / guide in the lobby of your hotel and depart for your Hill Country Experience.

    Hatton is a gateway to the famed Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) mountain, the epicenter of a pristine wilderness sanctuary and wildlife reserve, and a pilgrimage site for Buddhists, Muslims and Christians alike.

    Continue to another favorite location; Gartmore Falls, an amazing waterfall with its beautiful, rocky and mountainous scenic background, one of a series lying within the Gartmore tea estate.

    Enjoy the Tea Trails experience which includes the resident tea planter demonstrating the age-old tea growing and making process. Watch the tea pluckers pick two leaves and a bud, and visit the factory, where the all-important conversion to ‘made’ black tea happens.

    The machinery is still of 100-year-old traditional British design, and the artisanal process has not changed for a century. The daily complimentary group tour ends with a tasting of different grades of this great brew.

    Afterwards meet your private driver / guide and return to your hotel.

  • Day 3: Hatton / The Bogawantalawa Valley

    After breakfast you will mount a trail bike for an amazing adventure of discovery in the Bogawantalawa Valley. The unspoiled beauty of the valleys and hills create a terrific biking experience. Bikes are provided, and for longer rides we recommend that you are accompanied by a guide.

    A less energetic alternative is a relaxing game of lawn croquet, a competitive game in which colored wooden balls are knocked round a course of hoops, and which was played in medieval France.

  • Day 4: Hatton to Kandy

    After breakfast, meet your private driver / guide and depart for Kandy.

    En-route stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya, renowned for its collection of orchids and another beautiful spot for a relaxing stroll. Also home to the fruit bats that hang from the tree tops as they sleep during day.

    Kandy is surrounded by rolling hills and forests. It was the last capital of the Singhalese kingdom, and best known for the Temple of the Tooth, our most sacred relic of the Buddha himself.

    In the afternoon, check into your hotel. A visit to the the Temple of the Tooth awaits you. The best time to visit is in the cool of evening, when the floodlit temple is an amazing spectacle, as is the Puja ceremony, the act of showing reverence to a god, a spirit, or another aspect of the divine through invocations, prayers, songs, and rituals. The ceremony starts at 7.00pm every evening.

     

    The temple is on the banks of Kandy Lake, from which the seaplane service to the capital Colombo operates. North of the lake is the Udawattakelle Sanctuary, with its monkeys and profusion of forest birds.

  • Day 5: Kandy

    Enjoy breakfast and a day for relaxing and sightseeing, including an evening drive around the lake. Kandy Lake is also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk.

    Your private driver / guide will be at your disposal for sightseeing.

  • Day 6: Kandy to Dambulla

    After breakfast, meet your private driver / guide in the lobby of your hotel and depart for Dambulla.

    In the afternoon you will visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortress palace was built in the 5th Century during the reign of King Kasyapa. Known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance, it is one of the wonders of Sri Lanka.

    After this amazing and somewhat tiring experience, meet your private driver / guide and return to the hotel for refreshments and relaxation.

  • Day 7: Dambulla to Polonnaruwa

    After breakfast you will meet your private driver / guide and travel to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic Second Kingdom of Sri Lanka is replete with myriad palaces and Buddhist temples and shrines dating to the 12th Century.

    A particular highlight is the Gal Vihara Temple complex, which includes three statues of Lord Buddha carved out of a massive rock face: the meditation posture, the reclining posture and the seating posture.

    You also have the option of seeing more of the ancient city ruins on a cycle ride.

    In the afternoon you will proceed to Minneriya National Park and your Jeep Safari.  Renowned for its large population of elephants which gather around the lake in herds of 100 to 150. You will also see leopards, sloth bears, buffalo, wild boar, spotted deer, crocodiles and jackals to name a few. Nine species of amphibians, 25 species of reptiles, 160 species of birds, 26 species of fishes and 78 species of butterflies are also found in the park

  • Day 8: Dambulla to Passikuda

    After breakfast you will meet your private driver / guide and travel to the east coast for your beach stay.

    Pasikudah is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world. You can walk several kilometers into the sea because the water is only a few inches deep and the current is relatively weak.

    Your private driver / guide will return you to the hotel.

  • Day 9: Passikuda

    Batticaloa / Tour the Historic Dutch Fort Prawn Fish / Evening Beach BBQ. (B, L, D)

    After breakfast meet your private driver / guide and depart a scenic drive.  Batticaloa is a pretty city on an island, surrounded by a gorgeous lagoon. It is said to be ‘the land of the singing fish’, and has many places of interest including Kalkudah and Passikudah beaches.

    Visit the Dutch Fort. This historic fort, another of our UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it was actually built by the Portuguese in 1628 and captured by the Dutch 10 years later, and subsequently by the British. It is a square structure with four bastions bordered on two sides by the lagoon.

    Prawn fishing is a thriving industry that serves the local hotels and restaurants with fresh seafood every day. The prawns are trapped in boxes attached to stilts, and the best collected every morning at sunrise.

    Lunch at Hotel East Lagoon features Sri Lanka’s famed marine cuisine, including our delicious crab curry and varieties of spicy fish dishes, as well as a full western-style menu.

    After lunch enjoy the “city life” shopping and exploring for an afternoon. Outside of the fort, Galle itself is a thriving commercial town, and you will see local life including fish, meat, fruits and vegetable markets stocked with produce from the local farms.

    Your private driver will return you to Passikudha for your BBQ night on the beach!!!

  • Day 10: Passikuda

    After a delicious breakfast make your way to Pasikuda Beach where you will be provided all the comforts needed for an enjoyable beach day. Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, snacks and drinks are at your disposal.

    Lunch will be enjoyed at the Nandavanam restaurant, with menu offerings of mouth-watering authentic Batti dishes includes locally grown rice, crab, beef and dhal curry.

    The afternoon is yours to enjoy with a return to the beach, poolside relaxation or partaking in resort activities.

  • Day 11: Passikuda to Negombo
