Delfin Amazon Cruises, Luxury Expeditions to the Peruvian Amazon

In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, one of the world’s most remote and virgin eco-systems, luxury river-cruising is being redefined. Delfin Amazon Cruises owns and operates the Delfin I & Delfin II Amazon River Boats. Both vessels sail the pristine Amazon River and its branches on their 4 or 5-day cruises, year-round.

These unparalleled “floating beauties” host few privileged passengers aboard their’ 4 or 5-day cruise into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

The Destination:

The Amazon rainforest constitutes over half of the planet’s remaining rainforest. The Amazon River is the life force of the forest, rising in the Peruvian Andes and winding its way east over the northern half of South America until reaching the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon carries the highest volume of water into the ocean, more so than the top ten largest rivers flowing into the ocean combined. Recent studies claim that the Amazon is actually longer than the Nile, using Mount Mismi in Arequipa, which was labeled by the National Geographic Society as the Amazon´s source, these scientists have made new calculations of the Amazon's length and estimate that it is 65 miles longer than the Nile.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is the largest protected flooded forests in the world, making it one of the primary intact swathes of rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon. During the rainy season in the Andes, water levels rise in the Amazon, flooding 85% of the reserve and making it only accessible by boat.
