Location & Landscape
Opening in October 2026, Kanana Nyana is located in the private Kanana Concession in the southwestern Okavango Delta, an area known for its remarkable habitat diversity and year-round wildlife viewing. The concession combines permanent waterways, seasonal floodplains, lagoons, islands, and open grasslands, creating a classic Delta safari setting with both land and water experiences. The area is especially known for its rich birdlife, peaceful scenery, and exclusive low-density tourism model.
Wildlife Experience
The Kanana Concession supports an impressive variety of wildlife throughout the year. Guests may encounter elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, lechwe, wildebeest, impala, and hippo, along with predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, and hyena. The waterways attract large concentrations of birdlife, making the area particularly rewarding for bird enthusiasts, especially during the green season when migratory species arrive. Seasonal water levels also create exceptional opportunities for mokoro excursions and boating safaris.
Accommodation
Kanana Nyana is designed as an intimate luxury camp with four thatched Suites that ensure privacy and personalized service. The accommodations combine contemporary safari elegance with natural textures and soft tones inspired by the Delta environment. Spacious interiors, ensuite bathrooms, comfortable lounge areas, and private decks allow guests to fully connect with the surrounding landscape while enjoying a high level of comfort and refinement.
Design & Atmosphere
The camp’s design embraces a modern and understated safari aesthetic, blending canvas, timber, and organic materials with open spaces that maximize light and views. The main lodge areas include relaxed lounges, dining spaces, viewing decks, a swimming pool, and firepit areas overlooking the Delta landscape. The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and immersive, creating a seamless connection between the camp and its natural surroundings.
Activities & Experiences
Kanana Nyana offers a wide range of safari activities that showcase the diversity of the Okavango Delta. Guided game drives explore the concession’s varied habitats, while mokoro excursions and boating safaris provide a quieter perspective from the water. Depending on seasonal conditions, guests may also enjoy guided walks, birdwatching, fishing, and night drives. The combination of land- and water-based activities offers a well-rounded and highly immersive Delta safari experience.
