The River Station is located near Katunguru on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, overlooking the Kazinga Channel where Lake George and Lake Edward meet. The surrounding landscape combines open savannah, crater lakes, wetlands, and river channels rich with birdlife and wildlife activity. The lodge’s elevated position provides wide views across the water and surrounding plains, particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

Wildlife Experience
The Kazinga Channel is one of Uganda’s richest wildlife areas, known for large concentrations of hippos, elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and waterbirds. Boat safaris along the channel offer close wildlife encounters, while nearby game drive areas within Queen Elizabeth National Park support lions, leopards, antelope, and a remarkable diversity of bird species. The surrounding region also provides access to chimpanzee trekking in nearby forested areas.
