Continue to the Giraffe Centre for an up-close experience with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, followed by a visit to a local beadwork community project, where local women create handcrafted jewelry and artwork while supporting their families and preserving traditional skills.
Day 3 - The Adventure Takes Flight - To the Mara North Conservancy
This morning, transfer from your hotel to Wilson Airport in Nairobi for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Mara North Airstrip in the Mara North Conservancy. Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and begin a game drive en route to Mara Expedition Camp, offering your first introduction to the wildlife and landscapes of the Greater Mara ecosystem.
After settling into camp, enjoy lunch and a safari briefing before departing on your afternoon game drive in the private conservancy, an area known for excellent wildlife viewing and a more exclusive safari experience. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and your first night in the Maasai Mara wilderness.
Day 4 - Safari Activities in the Mara
Spend the day exploring the Mara North Conservancy with morning and afternoon safari activities led by your guide. The area is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including big cats, elephant, giraffe, zebra, and large herds of plains game. Between activities, return to Mara Expedition Camp for time to relax, enjoy lunch, and experience the comfortable and authentic atmosphere of the camp.
Day 5 - Hot Air Balloon Safari and beyond
Rise early this morning for a game drive transfer toward the hot air balloon launch site, crossing from the Mara North Conservancy into the Maasai Mara National Reserve along the way. Your balloon safari begins just before sunrise, offering a quiet and scenic perspective above the plains, with wildlife and sweeping savannah landscapes spread out below as the morning light changes across the Mara.
After landing, enjoy a bush breakfast shared with fellow passengers before continuing with a game drive back to Mara Expedition Camp. Spend the middle of the day at leisure to relax at camp before departing again in the afternoon for another safari activity in the Mara North Conservancy.
Day 6 - From the Mara to the Serengeti
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at camp before transferring to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight departing the Maasai Mara. En route to the Serengeti, you will land for immigration formalities before continuing by road across the Kenya-Tanzania border. From the Tanzania side, continue by light aircraft to the airstrip closest to the current seasonal location of Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp.
Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and begin a game drive en route to camp, offering your first introduction to the vast plains and wildlife of the Serengeti ecosystem. After settling into camp and enjoying lunch, depart in the afternoon for your first safari activity in this remarkable wilderness area before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - The Serengeti - Following the Great Migration
Spend the day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti with your guide from Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp. Positioned seasonally to follow the movement of the Great Migration, the camp offers access to areas where large herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. The concentration of wildlife during these periods also attracts predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena, creating excellent game viewing opportunities throughout the day.
Morning and afternoon safari activities allow you to experience the changing rhythm of the Serengeti while exploring its open plains, scattered kopjes, and diverse habitats. Between activities, return to camp to relax, enjoy lunch, and experience the authentic safari atmosphere that defines Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp.
Day 8 - Safari in the Serengeti
Enjoy another full day exploring the Serengeti from Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp. Unlike permanent lodges, the camp moves seasonally to different regions of the Serengeti in anticipation of the Great Migration, allowing guests to stay close to the movement of the herds throughout the year. This flexible approach creates a more immersive safari experience, with access to areas where thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather across the open plains.
Morning and afternoon safari activities focus on the remarkable wildlife of the Serengeti ecosystem, including predators that follow the migration and the many resident species found throughout the region. Between activities, return to camp to relax and enjoy the classic atmosphere of an authentic mobile safari camp in the heart of the wilderness.
Day 9 - Fly to Lake Manyara and onto the Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic and diverse park known for its groundwater forests, open plains, acacia woodlands, and large populations of baboons, elephant, and birdlife along the lake’s shores.
Continue by road to Entamanu Ngorongoro, located in a remote and less-visited area high on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Set away from the busier lodge areas, the camp offers expansive views across the crater highlands and surrounding landscapes, with a strong sense of privacy and connection to the environment. After settling into camp, enjoy the cool mountain air and peaceful atmosphere overlooking one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural settings.
Day 10 - Exploring the Ngorongoro Crater
Depart early this morning for a full-day safari inside the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Thanks to Entamanu Ngorongoro’s location high on the quieter side of the crater rim, access into the crater is more direct and avoids some of the busier lodge circuits.
The crater floor supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within a relatively compact area, including elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena, lion, and a strong possibility of spotting the endangered black rhino. The landscape changes constantly throughout the day, from open grasslands and soda lakes to acacia woodland and marshes filled with birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater before continuing your exploration of this unique ecosystem.
Return to camp in the afternoon to relax and take in the cool air and expansive views from the crater rim.
Day 11 - Farewell Tanzania
Enjoy a relaxed morning at camp, taking in the peaceful atmosphere and views from the Ngorongoro highlands before departing by road to Lake Manyara Airstrip. From there, board your scheduled light aircraft flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, continue by road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward international flight home.
