Little Ongava is set on a rocky hillside within the private Ongava Private Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park. The lodge overlooks open plains, mopane woodland, and nearby waterholes that attract wildlife throughout the day and evening. Elevated above the surrounding landscape, the setting offers sweeping views across the reserve and toward the distant Etosha horizon, creating a strong sense of privacy and space.

The reserve is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including white and black rhino, elephants, lions, giraffe, zebra, and a variety of antelope species. Access
Little Ongava is typically accessed via light-aircraft flight from Windhoek to a nearby airstrip, followed by a short game drive transfer through the reserve. Road transfers are also possible, though flying offers a dramatic introduction to Namibia’s changing landscapes and allows guests to maximize their time on safari.
