The reserve is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including white and black rhino, elephants, lions, giraffe, zebra, and a variety of antelope species. Ongava is particularly respected for rhino conservation and guided rhino tracking experiences. Guests benefit from access to both the private reserve and nearby Etosha National Park, creating a combination of exclusive safari activities and classic Etosha game viewing around the park’s iconic salt pans and waterholes.

Little Ongava features just three spacious luxury suites, creating one of Namibia’s most intimate and exclusive safari experiences. Each suite includes a private plunge pool, expansive viewing deck, indoor and outdoor showers, freestanding bathtub, lounge area, and floor-to-ceiling openings overlooking the reserve. The accommodations are designed to maximize privacy, comfort, and uninterrupted wildlife views from every angle.
Design & Atmosphere
The lodge combines contemporary African design with natural stone, timber, thatch, and earthy textures that reflect the surrounding landscape. Open-air lounges, elevated decks, and understated interiors create an atmosphere that feels elegant yet relaxed. With only a handful of suites, the atmosphere is highly personalized and quiet, emphasizing privacy, attentive service, and immersion in the surrounding wilderness.
Activities & Experiences
Guests can enjoy game drives within the Ongava Reserve and Etosha National Park, guided rhino tracking, birdwatching, nature walks, and wildlife viewing from the lodge’s nearby waterhole. The reserve’s strong conservation focus and lower vehicle density create a more intimate safari experience, particularly for rhino encounters and photography. Evenings often center around sundowners overlooking the plains and dinners beneath the stars.

Little Ongava is typically accessed via light-aircraft flight from Windhoek to a nearby airstrip, followed by a short game drive transfer through the reserve. Road transfers are also possible, though flying offers a dramatic introduction to Namibia’s changing landscapes and allows guests to maximize their time on safari.
