Tongabezi Lodge is set along a quiet stretch of the Zambezi River upstream from Victoria Falls, surrounded by riverine forest, small islands, and shaded riverbanks where hippos and elephants are often seen nearby. Tongabezi focuses more on river life and the natural beauty of the Zambezi than on traditional safari game viewing. Guests regularly encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, monkeys, and abundant birdlife from the lodge and during river activities. Guests can enjoy sunset cruises, canoeing, fishing, guided visits to Victoria Falls, market visits in Livingstone, cultural experiences, and private island picnics. Adventure activities such as helicopter flights, white-water rafting, ziplining, and microlight flights are also available nearby at additional cost. Evenings often end with riverside dining beneath the stars as lanterns flicker along the riverbank.
Access
Tongabezi is located approximately 20 km / 12 mi from Livingstone Airport and is reached by a short road transfer through the outskirts of Livingstone and along the Zambezi River. Its location allows guests to enjoy a secluded river setting while remaining close to Victoria Falls and the region’s many activities.
